FLOOD PROTECTION

Recent events have highlighted the need for many properties to have flood protection systems in place. These properties include those situated on river flood plains, as well as those in areas where local drainage cannot deal with the water runoff during periods of heavy rainfall.

The cost of flood damage is obvious. Not only does flood water damage the contents of a home, but overflowing sewage causes contamination of the fabric of the structure, and this has to be remedied before the home can be reoccupied.

However, the effects of surface flooding can be minimized by the appropriate specification of flood defence systems, and in many cases it is possible to install a system that will provide complete protection.
